DANANG, VIETNAM, June 5, 2026 — La Maison 1888 at InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort has been recognised in the latest MICHELIN Guide Vietnam 2026, marking another milestone for the resort’s dining programme and Danang’s growing restaurant scene.
In the newly announced guide, La Maison 1888 retained One MICHELIN Star and remains the only starred restaurant in Central Vietnam. The honour adds to InterContinental Danang’s wider dining story and brings further attention to Artisan Stories, its six-day festival of cuisine, art and creative exchange taking place from 6 to 11 June 2026.
Set on the Son Tra Peninsula, InterContinental Danang has long been recognised for its Bill Bensley-designed setting, private bay and distinctive approach to resort hospitality. In recent years, it has also become one of Vietnam’s most ambitious culinary destinations, combining MICHELIN-recognised French dining, modern Japanese cuisine, regional Vietnamese flavours and immersive food-led programming.
“This is a very meaningful moment for InterContinental Danang and for our culinary team,” said Seif Hamdy, General Manager of InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort. “The MICHELIN Guide reflects consistency, craft and the ability to create dining experiences that stay with guests. I want to thank our team at La Maison 1888, Chef Christian Le Squer for his continued vision, our Chef de Cuisine, Chef Jean-Louis Angulo, the sommeliers, kitchen and service staff, and our guests, whose support makes this possible.
“This recognition also supports a bigger story: that Danang has the talent, setting and cultural depth to be recognised as a leading dining destination in Vietnam and beyond.”
At La Maison 1888, the resort’s signature French restaurant, the recognition continues a culinary story shaped by Chef Christian Le Squer, one of the most respected names in contemporary French gastronomy.
Executive Chef of Le Cinq at Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris, which holds three MICHELIN Stars, Le Squer brings to La Maison 1888 a culinary philosophy he often compares to haute couture: precise, creative and constantly evolving. Set within a dramatic Bill Bensley-designed dining room, the restaurant combines modern French technique with a strong sense of place, creating one of Vietnam’s most distinctive fine-dining experiences.
“This recognition from MICHELIN means so much to me and to the whole team at La Maison 1888,” said Le Squer. “A restaurant is never the work of one person. It is built through craft, discipline and shared passion. At La Maison 1888, we want every dish to be precise, beautiful and full of life, with colour, flavour and emotion that stay with the guest.”
InterContinental Danang will mark the MICHELIN recognition as La Maison 1888 introduces its new summer menu and a special dish celebrating the star.
With menus changing four times a year, the new summer edition gives guests a timely opportunity to experience how La Maison 1888 continues to evolve. At La Maison 1888, the focus remains on Le Squer’s expressive French haute cuisine.
The menu offers guests a new expression of La Maison 1888 at a moment when the resort’s dining programme is receiving renewed attention.
The latest accolade comes as the resort hosts Artisan Stories, a six-day festival featuring international creative figures, MICHELIN-starred chefs, guest chefs, mixologists and Vietnamese culinary talent.
Taking place from 6 to 11 June 2026, the festival includes beachfront celebrations, collaborative dinners, cocktail showcases, live entertainment and the headline Bensley x Le Squer: The Art of Joie de Vivre experience at La Maison 1888. For two nights only, Bill Bensley’s new collection of paintings, inspired by Son Tra’s red-shanked douc langurs, will serve as the creative starting point for Chef Christian Le Squer’s French haute cuisine.
For InterContinental Danang, the timing reflects a broader ambition: to help position Danang as a destination where world-class dining, Vietnamese culture, art and hospitality meet in one setting.
“Artisan Stories was created to invite our guests to celebrate the best of Central Vietnam’s culinary and creative culture,” added Hamdy. “Across the festival, they can experience MICHELIN-recognised dining, Vietnamese flavours, visiting chefs, mixology, art and live entertainment across the resort. With this MICHELIN recognition, we have even more reason to celebrate our teams and Danang’s growing place on the regional dining map.”
