When the Sky Over Da Nang Becomes a Stage of Light 

Each summer, as dusk settles over the Han River, Da Nang lifts its gaze to the night sky. Music drifts across the water, the bridges glow softly, and then the first burst of colour bursts above the city. 

The Danang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2026 returns from May 30 to July 11, bringing together international teams in one of Vietnam’s most anticipated summer celebrations. Nations compete through choreographed displays of light and music, transforming the riverfront into an open-air spectacle beneath the stars. 

Six Evenings of Fireworks and Music 

The festival includes six evenings, each with its own theme and pair of competing teams. 

May 30 – Opening Night: Nature
Vietnam (Da Nang) and China launch the festival with a tribute to landscapes, oceans and the natural world. 

June 6 – Heritage
France and Vietnam’s Z121 Vina Pyrotech present performances inspired by history and cultural identity. 

June 13 – Culture
Japan and Italy interpret artistic traditions through intricate choreography and music. 

June 20 – Creativity
Germany and Macau explore imaginative pyrotechnic design and contemporary expression. 

June 27 – Vision
Australia and Portugal illuminate the sky with bold, modern artistry. 

July 11 – Grand Finale: Da Nang – United Horizons
The top teams return for a closing spectacle that brings the festival to its dramatic conclusion. 

A Summer Tradition on the Han River 

During DIFF, evenings along the Han River take on a special energy. Riverside bars and cafés are packed, and people gather along the water in a celebratory buzz.
