There is a reason that Bastien Gonzalez is the world’s most sought-after pedicurist, with a suite of PEDI:MANI:CURE Studios at luxury hotels and resorts from Monaco to Mexico. Three reasons, actually—Bastien’s approach is a unique three-step process of podiatry, nail care and totally relaxing massage therapy.
“I love to say we are doing the true pedicure,” says Bastien. “We are curing the feet. Treating the feet is not just painting the nails.”
After first addressing skin and nail issues, Bastien’s innovative nail beauty treatment uses minuscule drills tipped with diamond dust and a polishing technique he observed from his grandmother, featuring a chamois leather and a pearl buffing cream. Nails are restored to a brilliant natural shine that glows with or without polish.
It was a misfortune that brought Bastien Gonzalez to the world of treating feet. Before he became a pedicurist, the native of France was a professional skier. A serious accident that resulted in a broken kneecap kept him off his feet and brought him under the care of a podiatrist. Gonzalez grew fascinated by the art of foot care and devoted himself to studying podiatry. After operating a successful clinic in Place des Vosges, Paris, he developed his special process.
Since then, it has been success after success for Gonzalez, with an A-list celebrity clientele, studios at five-star resorts around the world and a line of high-end nail care products. Treatment by Gonzalez himself is booked for months in advance for one of his residencies in Paris, London, and New York— a “Beauty Treatment Worth Traveling For,” as Fodor’s Travel puts it. Bastien’s PEDI:MANI:CURE Studios frequently receive accolades such as World’s Best Nail Studio Brand 2019 by the World Spa Awards.
Gonzalez says he was drawn to the InterContinental® Danang Sun Peninsula Resort by the resort’s dream location on the Son Tra Peninsula as well as the historical connection between France and Vietnam.
Each of Gonzalez’s staff is personally selected and trained by the foot virtuoso himself—so treat your feet and learn the true meaning of pedicure.
