Some weeks feel bigger than others.
At InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, this is one of them.
As chefs, artists, mixologists and creative minds arrive for Artisan Stories: Art Meets Gastronomy, another reason to celebrate has emerged. La Maison 1888 has retained its Michelin Star in the Michelin Guide Vietnam 2026, remaining the only starred restaurant in Central Vietnam.
If you’re arriving this week, the timing could not be better.
A dinner at La Maison 1888 has always been about more than the food. The experience begins with a journey through Bill Bensley’s striking mansion, continues through a dining room filled with character, and unfolds course by course under Chef Christian Le Squer’s vision of French haute cuisine.
This latest recognition reflects the work of many people behind the scenes. Alongside Chef Christian Le Squer, Chef de Cuisine Jean-Louis Angulo leads the kitchen team responsible for bringing that vision to life every evening. From the sommeliers and service team to the chefs behind each course, every detail contributes to the experience guests remember long after the final plate leaves the table.
“This is a very meaningful moment for InterContinental Danang and for our culinary team,” says Seif Hamdy, General Manager of InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort. “The Michelin Guide reflects consistency, craft and the ability to create dining experiences that stay with guests.”
The recognition also arrives alongside a new chapter for La Maison 1888.
This summer, the restaurant introduces a new seasonal menu, offering guests a fresh expression of Chef Le Squer’s culinary philosophy. With menus changing four times each year, returning diners will discover new ingredients, new ideas and new interpretations, while first-time guests can experience the latest evolution of one of Vietnam’s most celebrated French restaurants.
Beyond La Maison 1888, the entire resort is preparing for six days of culinary and creative exchange.
From June 6 to 11, Artisan Stories: Art Meets Gastronomy brings together visiting chefs, artists, mixologists and hospitality professionals for a programme of collaborative dinners, cocktail experiences, live entertainment and conversations around food, culture and creativity.
One of the festival’s highlights is Bensley x Le Squer: The Art of Joie de Vivre. For two nights only, Bill Bensley’s artwork inspired by Son Tra’s red-shanked douc langurs will meet Chef Christian Le Squer’s haute couture cuisine in an experience that celebrates the connection between art and gastronomy.
Together, these moments reflect a broader story taking shape in Danang.
Once known primarily for its coastline and natural beauty, the city is increasingly earning recognition for its dining scene, creative energy and cultural depth. For InterContinental Danang, retaining its Michelin Star is part of that story, while Artisan Stories provides an opportunity to share it with guests from around the world.
A Michelin-recognised dinner. A conversation with a visiting chef. A new menu. A week of celebration.
There are many reasons to visit InterContinental Danang this June. This year, they all happen to arrive at the same time.
