InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, the luxury resort located on Son Tra nature reserve has once again been honoured by the World Travel Awards (WTA) as World's Leading Luxury Resort at the grand final gala ceremony held in Phu Quoc. Winning the prestigious award for the fourth consecutive year, the resort has set a new world record.
The annual award is heralded as the travel industry's equivalent to the Oscar's by The Wall Street Journal. Into its 24th year, the WTA was launched to celebrate organisations that push the boundaries of industry excellence, and is acknowledged across the globe as the ultimate travel and tourism accolade. Guests attending the gala event include many of the industry’s elite: chief executive officers and senior vice presidents of leading travel companies, government ministers as well as tourism board chiefs.
At the dual Grand Final Gala Ceremony of 24th Annual World Travel Awards and 3rd Annual World Spa Award, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort was crowned as World's Leading Luxury Resort 2017. Alongside the grand award, the resort also won 3 additional accolades for its signature restaurant helmed by world-acclaimed chef, Pierre Gagnaire, and the award winning spa:
